Please note that you need to have a diagnosable condition in order to bill insurance. In the case of marriage or family counseling, one person usually becomes the patient if there is a diagnosable condition. Other family members can be involved in this person’s therapy. There are times when more than one person in the family can become a patient with patient-provider written agreement for multiple role intervention.
